Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to join GoDaddy!

My name is Ana and I’m the manager of several teams, consisting of systems engineers and site reliability engineers located in Sofia, Bulgaria. I joined a company that would eventually become a part of GoDaddy back in 2014. I started out as a live chat agent and had no prior knowledge or experience in the field, so it was an interesting challenge for me. From the start, I fell in love with the atmosphere that we were building up in the office. It was a very small team at the time with only 7 of us working together on different projects. A lot of changes have happened since then, but I’m happy to say that we’ve kept the friendly vibe going within the team!

Tell us more about your team, and why job seekers should join you and your team.

My teams take care of several parts of the business, but we all come together to solve key-business problems. We all hang out because we genuinely like each other and care for one another. I think the biggest perk of the team is exactly that — the community that we’ve built over the years and the support system that comes with it. Bragging rights in the team can originate from a job well done or from winning a paintball tournament — we try to keep things fun, regardless of the circumstances.

What real-life problems does your team solve?

Some of my teams are responsible for the operational functions related to select GoDaddy products, which essentially means that they work on ensuring that our customers get the best experience and the highest uptime we can manage. One of my teams works on legacy platforms to ensure that they’re taken care of properly, updated and maintained, even though they’re no longer actively sold by the company. All of my teams have a very customer-focused mindset, both when it comes to internal and external customers. They’re always looking for opportunities to improve the existing setup and the experiences our customers have with the relevant products.

What does it take to succeed on your team?

Being a team player and being open to challenges and new ideas.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I like to spend time with my dog, Ezio! We both enjoy hiking or just long walks in the city. I also love traveling, climbing, music — I like to keep an open mind for anything new that crosses my path.
