301 REDIRECTS

I am currently using the website builder. Does anyone know if I can access the htaccess file so I can setup domain 301 redirects.  THX

Hello @bm678!

Thank you for posting. With Website Builder, there's no way to access it's files. If you'd like to redirect domains, you can do so by modifying it's DNS. Reply here with what you're trying to achieve so the community can guide you in the right direction.

Getting Started

Thanks for the feedback. Here is what I am attempting to achieve. Let's say my domain name is www.domain.com. I am trying to redirect domain.com and http://domain.com to www.domain.com. A typical SEO move.  THX

Hello @bm678!

Thank you for your reply. If your domain is with us, it should already be setup to do this within your domain's zone file. There will be a CNAME in there that directs your domain with www. preceding it to your domain without the www.

I built a secure website using domain “A” in web builder 7.

I have now created a new secure website using domain “B” in the latest GoCentral website builder.

I now want all traffic from A to now redirect to B. How would I go about this? No one seems to have a clear answer, or it’s impossible, which seems unlikely. I just haven’t found the right answer yet.

The complicating factor seems to be the SSL certificate on website A. We are concerned about the loss of external links to company A as they could be https or http links.

This seems to be the closest thread I’ve found on the subject.

A final wrinkle, I have access to a C-panel account. Can I use a root cpanel folder with htaccess file to 301 redirect everything? Thanks for any thoughts or directions.

Take care of that sort of redirecting in your Google search console
