Hello and thank you in advance for any tips and help you may offer.
So I recently redirected my website using go daddy. My old website is hosted through dream host. My domain name I purchased years ago through go daddy. I was able to design a new website and I now having that being the redirect location for my original url.
Once I did that I quickly realized I now no longer receive emails to my email address. I'm guessing it has something to do with the redirect and not having an updated MX.
I've done a lot of reading but it's not clear to me how to fix my issue. If I need to go to dream host and change the MX now or if I change/add the MX in go daddy DNS area.
Wherever you are managing your DNS - you need to add an A record for
Host = Mail
points to = IP of your old server
then setup the mx record to be
Host = @
Points to mail.YOURDOMAIN.com
You may have a CNAME for mail that you need to remove first
