Meet Tacos El Tio 

Tacos El Tio is a thriving, multi-location Mexican restaurant group based in the Chicago area. Founded by owner H. Martinez and operator J. Cameron, the business has grown to 10 restaurants, some of which offer 24/7 service. Tacos El Tio is known for its diverse menu, which features unique regional dishes tailored to the preferences of each local community it serves. 

Business challenges required a new approach

As Tacos El Tio rapidly expanded, Cameron faced some critical business obstacles. Standardizing the brand and systems across multiple locations, each with its own unique menu, pricing, and customer base, proved challenging. How GoDaddy made an impact

With GoDaddy's help, Tacos El Tio was able to streamline its operations and overcome the challenges of rapid expansion. GoDaddy’s integrated POS and online ordering system allowed the team to build a primary brand website with individual pages for each restaurant, each connected to the specific location's POS and online ordering.

Plus, Tacos El Tio was able to retrieve previously lost traffic from third-party ordering sites like UberEats and DoorDash. According to Cameron: "When we launched direct online ordering on our website, our traffic boomed in Google Analytics." 

This didn’t just strengthen the Tacos El Tio brand and improve its SEO. It also gave customers a seamless experience when ordering directly from the company's website. Cameron and her team were able to roll out new locations in sequence, roughly every 2-3 weeks, with the help of GoDaddy's onboarding support. 

What's next for Tacos El Tio

Tacos El Tio continues to build on their success with GoDaddy. They’re deploying additional terminals and handhelds in busier locations with table-side ordering to both streamline order handoff to the kitchen and reduce wait times. Her goal is to find a simple, integrated way for orders to surface immediately in the back of the house. 

Cameron and her team remain committed to keeping their employee training simple and consistent as they open new locations, while also continuing to build direct ordering and SEO momentum via their GoDaddy website and location pages. 

As Tacos El Tio continues to open new locations and build on their success, they also leverage merchant cash advances from GoDaddy Capital to buy buildings for new restaurant locations. These include one bought at auction in cash that eventually helped generate $1.5 million in business. Cameron describes the application process as “very easy and very fast. We applied today, and in three days, the money was in our account.”
